Measuring

Measuring your windows for Roman Blinds is easy. There’s only one question to answer first:

Do you want your Roman Blinds to fit inside the window recess, or to overlap it?

1. I Want My Roman Blind To Fit Inside The Window Recess.

Simply measure the width then the drop of the recess, as shown. Make a note of these measurements, preferably in centimetres (cm).

Deduct 1cm from the total height and width measurements, to allow the Roman Blind to fit within the recess.

2. I Want My Roman Blind To Cover The Recess.

Measure the width and the drop according to where you want the Roman Blind to sit.

We suggest that you add about 10cm to the overall width. Then also add around 12-13cm to the drop. We’ve shown this in the diagram:

Allow 50cm extra height per Roman Blind for hems and trimming.
